Toward a More Resilient School Community

Over 600 students from Talisay City National High School (TCNHS) underwent RAFI Center for Leaders (CFL) Developing Resilience in YOUth course. Students from Grades 7 to 12 participated in the sessions. In total, nine four-hour sessions were conducted in May through June.

Some of the participants’ key takeaways from the session encompass understanding what resilience is, how significant it is for them as students, and how they can build it through different methods that they can easily practice.

TCNHS’ Master Teacher 1, Ms. Candice Grace Maque, who is also an alumna of RAFI CFL, spearheaded the initiative to have the students take the course. Developing Resilience in Youth is a course under RAFI CFL’s Youth Development Programs that foregrounds the significance of developing the trait of resiliency when dealing with challenges in life. It underlines the value of having healthy coping mechanisms during adversities or unexpected life detours.

The RAFI Center for Leaders provides learning and development programs that equip leaders and enable communities through world-class, safe, powerful learning experiences. The RAFI CFL headquarters are located in the scenic mountains of Balamban, Cebu at the Kool Adventure Camp, the country’s first and only fully dedicated adventure education facility.
