Cebuano Youths Discuss Rights, Roles, Responsibilities, and Realities

Four hundred seventy-seven youths from Cebu City, Cebu Province, and its component cities, gathered at the IC3 Convention Center on September 29-30, 2023, for the ARANGKADA: Youth Leaders Summit to discuss their rights, roles, responsibilities, and realities (4Rs).

The dialogue took place on the second day during the Cebuano Youth Conversation session facilitated by the RAFI Center for Leaders (CFL) which convened 477 Cebuano participants, representing 36 schools and organizations.

During the half-day session, the RAFI CFL staff was able to reconnect with some of those who had previously participated in their civic engagement sessions, as well as get to know Cebu’s budding and empowered young leaders.

The session was successful in bringing to light the issues and realities that they face, as well as their perspectives on the 4Rs.

At the end of the session, they matched the realities they’d recognized to each of the Centers of Youth Participation (COYP) and placed them on their Arangkada jeepney banners.

ARANGKADA (Accelerate) was a 2-day event in partnership with the Youth Leadership for Democracy (YouthLed), a program implemented by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and The Asia Foundation.
